Every figure in a report can be drilled down to the transactions behind it. You choose the calculation basis (accrual or cash); the system does not hide it.
Who builds Financist
The product is owned by Swipe Scape s.r.o., a Czech company. We also develop Alisio, a property management system (PMS) for hotels and glamping sites.
In that work we see every day what small-business accounting looks like: several properties, seasonal peaks, suppliers, debts, and money spread across different accounts and currencies. Financist is our answer to that need, not an abstract product “for everyone”.
How the service began
Financist was born from our own need for accounting at the Kemp Carlsbad glamping site near Karlovy Vary. Spreadsheets and statements were not enough to answer an owner’s simple questions quickly: how much money is in the accounts, what has to be paid this week, whether cash will last until the end of the season, and whether each business line is profitable.
So we built a system where accounts, transactions, debts, budgets and reports work on the same data, and answers do not have to be assembled by hand.
Product principles
These four principles shape how we design Financist.
Data security
Workspaces are isolated, access is managed through roles, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log. Data is stored on servers in the EU (Germany). See the Security page.
AI as a helper, not an autopilot
The assistant works within your permissions. Changes to the books are made only after confirmation, and background tasks only suggest changes without applying them.
Open export
The data is yours. A full copy of a workspace can be exported as JSON and reports as CSV, and personal access tokens and webhooks are available for integrations.
Financist and the Alisio ecosystem
We intend to develop Financist not only as a standalone service but also as a separate module of the Alisio ecosystem, so that hospitality businesses can keep management accounts alongside managing their rooms and units.
This is our intention, not a finished feature: today Financist runs as a separate service, and we do not promise integration dates.

Because the need for management accounting is similar in every small company: money in accounts, debts, profit and a plan. Our hospitality background helped us build accounting by property and business line, but the service suits any small or mid-sized business.
